Who am I

My name is Zoe Lasri and I love to travel. who-am-i

If I was 21 and just finishing my mandatory military service, I would do what most young Israelis do at that age: I'd pack my backpack and start wandering the world.
I would go to the Far East, to South America and maybe even to Africa. I would visit all the countries on the globe, meet interesting people, ride elephants and camels, go on a mountain treks, ski the snowy slopes, dive to the depths of the sea and fly in a hot air balloon…
I wouldn’t miss out on anything the world offers!

But I’m well past that stage in life, having celebrated 37 years on this planet.
I am married to Yuval and we have three wonderful children: Tom is 9, Shira is 4 and Maya is a baby. We live in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, have a car and our jobs.

Truthfully, this is exactly what I hoped for myself when I was 21. I wanted to marry the love of my life, raise a family, and run a fulfilling business with the flexibility to also spend time with my children. My dream of traveling just didn't fit in, so I gave up on it.

For a long time motherhood and running my business filled my days and gave me great satisfaction. I was very happy with my life, but deep in my heart I always wondered how the elephants and camels could fit into this picture. How can I dive to the depths and ski the mountains even at this stage in my life?

So one spring day about four years ago, I woke up in the morning determined to try to travel. I bought tickets to Prague right then and there.
That day I realized my desire to see the world did not have to be pushed aside just because I am a busy working mother. And I dared to dream again…

Now I am fulfilled by many adventures, though always happy to have more. I want to share them with you, to show you that everything is possible and you can also make your dream come true!

P.S. I write my travel blog in Hebrew originally. This English version was inspired by my friends around the world who wanted to read it with proper translation.
Translations are definitely a challenge, but I hope the spirit of my passion comes through! 😉

By the way, have you ever visited my country?
Israel is an amazing place, welcome! 🙂
